Say Goodbye To All The Lights I Used Before !!!! Review by Dick Osso
I am an event videographer. In the past, I used 4 Anton Bauer battery blocks, Quad Charger, Power Belt, Vari-light, and carry it all around with a heavy Pelican Case to light my indoor events.

NO MORE !!!

I have been using the 256 for several events. The amount of light I get is perfect. The color is the best as I don't have to color correct in post the way I use to. With a Sony battery, I have yet to go beyond the use of the one battery. So this LED system is a dream come true.

We have replaced the old system and now pack a light weight soft bag for the MICROBEAM and other gear. All our shooters are very happy.

If you haven't moved over to LEDs, now is the time to do it. The 256 is perfect for our needs and recommend it to all videographers. (Posted on 4/28/10)
Worth every penny! Review by Pete Allen

Let me start by saying I REALLY BOUGHT AND OWN THIS LIGHT. I have been a professional Videographer over 20 years and I travel constantly; shooting inside the U.S. and overseas. My primary cameras are a Sony XDCAM HD and Sony Z1U. I purchased this light to go along with the Microbeam 128 and the LED 500 that I use on shoots. I am VERY happy with the light. It does get warm after a while but not hot enough to keep me from holding it in my hand. It puts out a tremendous amount of light for its size. I have compared it side by side to Lite Panels and for half the price you get way more than twice the light. First Microbeam 256 really is close to a 200 watt light. These LEDs put out a nice even light that is naturally soft and matches well with natural sunlight so you don’t have to gel windows or carry filters or HMIs. There is a functional dimmer built in that allows you to dial in just the right amount of light. The aluminum housing is tough, strong enough to survive travels to Africa and to B.F.E. United States. I use Sony 970 L-series batteries to power the light. One of these batteries will run it continuously for over an hour (I put a stopwatch on it) so you don’t have to hunt up a power outlet. I have used it in extraordinarily hot conditions in Africa and in below freezing conditions here in the U.S. and have never had one issue. In fact the only problem I have with my 256 is that my co-worker keeps borrowing for his shoots. As of this writing he has taken it to Haiti to document the massive earthquake destruction. So now I am ordering two more for our shop! I just checked the price for a 200 watt Mole-Richardson Inbetweenie that you MUST PLUG IN, must have a separate hard case to fly around, must have a light stand, requires replacement bulbs, is heavy, is tungsten, gets hot enough to start a fire and it costs $360.00. For a few bucks more you get a daylight instrument that you can run on a tiny battery that you don’t have to gel to use near natural sunlight. It is small, light weight and will not melt your other gear when you pack it up at the end of your shoot. I use light stands but also have just had someone just hold the light while inside mud huts on the plains of Kenya. It is so small and puts off such a small amount of heat I have just hidden it in plants, on desk tops and even just put it in the shot and no one was the wiser! This is a great light and I recommend it whole heartedly! If you have any other questions contact me at countrypeteallen@yahoo.com. (Posted on 4/27/10)

My Microbeam 256 did not work with batteries upon receipt, but Flolight replaced it and the product is excellent. I can highly recommend this product. I also have another product from this company and it is an excellent product too. (Posted on 4/27/10)

I've been using a 128 & a 256 for about 2 months now. both work great. On friday,
11-6-09 I dropped the 256 about 18 feet from a balcony onto a wooden floor.
amazingly enough - not a scratch - and still works flawlessly. thanks for not making this out of plastic.

I just purchased this product. I am a real user and can not say enough about how well built this product is. The light is powerful and adjustable to meet all my needs. I would recommend this light to any wedding video company and plan on doing so. You can't go wrong with this light.
