I love new technology. Case and point. I was shooting a cooking show in Philadelphia and had to mix my FL-220's with a pair of Kino Flo's. My Flolights seemed brighter and the barn door reflectors helped me further direct the light on to the set. Our setting was an outdoor courtyard, and with a constant slight breeze the Kino's had to be tended to because of their weight. My Flo's pack and transport better for a couple of different reasons. #1- they are more rigid and less fragile. #2- They have no external ballasts. #3- They are easier to move, stack and setup. I need flexibility, and all of my camera, lighting and monitoring gear must fit into my Subaru. Some time the hardest part of my production day is getting gear in, setting up and tearing down. All of my Flolights ( and I have some of the original BIG round tube variety ) continue to perform flawlessly under some extreme conditions. Not only are they a terrific lighting instrument but they've saved my wallet from that empty feeling after an equipment purchase. Dave F. Director of Photography I use Flolights exclusively on "The Fretz Kitchen" television show. Seen on Comcast every day at 5pm. Check out our website for clips from the |
Dear Chuck,
I just wanted to let you know how thrilled we are with our new Flo-2000 lights! EVERY producer and talent who has stepped into the studio has commented immediately how easy on the eye the lights are, from both sides of the set. It’s true, the light just rolls off the talent softly, casting no hard shadows at all. Setting up a shoot used to be a labor-intensive ordeal: up and down ladders dozens of times, adjusting focus, aim, and not to mention getting a nice face-burn in the process (even talent is more patient now because they aren’t melting under hot lights). My favorite part of all: one flip of the power strip switch (mounted at eye level) and 90% of our lighting needs are met.
It is simply beautiful.
Hats off to you for an excellent product, delivered 100% intact, and priced most reasonably.
